Literature Text

I know you might rail 'gainst me for what I shall say,
I know my "loyalities" might influence me.
But what is so wrong about being gay?
And what justifies your bigotry?

Love is love no matter who its between.
And you say "God is love", ya know what I mean?

You say we live for sex, exist for fornication,
That we're using the activities of animals
To justify sin.
Either they don't do it at all
"Or perhaps they do, you say
But they're animals"-they don't think
You chose to be this way!"
And as I die a bit inside,
From your bitter presumptions,
I wonder who truly would strive
For a life of hateful discrimination?

I don't hurt
for being bi.
That doesn't cause me pain,
you see.
But I'm sure every person
Who feels like I,
From the LGBT,
Probably knows who is to blame
for the pain:
Our society.

Choose to think,
Look within.
Since when should LOVE
Be called a sin?

I don't know why I am this way,
I don't know the case for others
All I know is that to try to change
Is to cause myself to suffer
Are you so blind that you can't look
At the reality beyond your Book?

We're people just like you,
Not inhuman monsters who hate the family.
Please turn 'round and face the truth,
Open your eyes and see.
The people you're oppressing ,
with your snap judgments and hate,
All in the name of a religion.
You say we're headed for Hell's gate.

But if you and the rest would realize,
People are as they were born,
Maybe we wouldn't be so miserable,
Freed from your hate and scorn

Not all of us are religious,
But perhaps those who are,
Can see that, when it comes to dogma,
You have gone too far.
Punishing us for things we did not choose,
Claiming we have to be cured.
Tell me, would this really please
Christ, your Savior and your Lord?

What kind of loving God would punish those
Who never hurt anyone in their love
And never 'chose'
To gaze upon who they did
And pledge their devotion
To this special person,
does gender matter who?- no
That they adored so?

Wake up from your dreams
Of fire and brimstone for us
See who we really are:
As human as you, thus
Do we deserve all that you said
Because it's two of the same in a bed
When we are as kind as you
And make sure to love our neighbor too?

Find the answer yourself,
I won't force you to change your mind.
But that means that you
must do the same in kind.
Love is beautiful,
That's what's important.
And I mean it, at least from my heart,
One hundred percent.
Just a little response to an insulting and poorly phrased "gay is wrong" poem I found on DA yesterday: [link]
(Not that my poetry writing skills are any better.) Sorry, but seeing things like this makes my blood boil, and writing things like this down calms me a bit. But this might be my 102 degree fever talking as well.
